Seeing someone truly changes everything—even yourself.
이제 중학교 2학년이 된 Juliana와 Bryce의 풋풋한 성장 드라마.
그들에게 뒤바뀌는 것 (flipped) 것은 비단 서로에 대한 애정과 관심 뿐 아니라, 모든 것을 보게하는 시각(perspective)이다. 겉으로 보여지는 사람들의 모습이 얼마나 실제와 다를 수 있는지를, 모든 경험이 새로웠던 그 때의 시각으로 또 그 때 사용할만한 언어로 실감나게 보여준다. 또 두 다른 가족의 극명히 차이나는 성숙도를 유머러스하게 보여주면서 우리와 닮은 모습에 공감하게 한다.
삶에서 정말 중요한 것이 무엇인지를 이제 막 서서히 깨달아가는 청소년들이 서로를, 또 세상을 바라보는 시각이 리얼하게 잘 드러난다는 면에서, 원서책에 흥미를 잃은 6학년~중2 학생들 혹은 청소년 심리가 궁금한 어른들에게 적극 추천한다.
