초등 Fiction Reading & Writing

Esther

Prompt #1: Dystopia Vs. Utopia

Imagine a town where everything looks perfect and happy, like a picture from a storybook. But behind this happy picture, there are some problems that people don't talk about. Write a story about a character who starts to notice things that aren't quite right in their town. Maybe some people don't have enough food to eat, or others don't have a safe place to live. Describe what the character sees, hears, and feels as they start to notice these problems.

Prompt #2: Rules for Elementary, Middle and High School Students

Imagine a perfect world where everyone can be happy and successful. But to keep things great, there are some rules to follow. If you were in charge, what rules would you make for students in elementary, middle, and high school? Explain why for each group.

Writing Prompt #3 Exploring Sad Memories

Think about a time when you experienced something sad or painful. Write a personal narrative exploring this memory, focusing on the emotions you felt, the lessons you learned, and how it has shaped you. Consider the impact of this memory on your life and the understanding it brought.

Writing Prompt #4: Cherished Moments

Think about three special moments in your life that made you really happy. These memories are like treasures that you want to keep forever because they bring you joy whenever you think about them. Write about each of these happy memories in detail. Describe what happened, who was there with you, and how you felt during each moment.

Writing Prompt #5: The Little Lie That Grew

Think about a time when you or someone you know told a small fib or white lie. Write a short story about the reasons behind the lie, what happened next, and how it affected relationships. Explore the importance of honesty and share what you learned from this experience.

Prompt #6: The Colorless World

Imagine living in a world where everything is without color. Write a story about what it would be like to live in this colorless world. Describe how people navigate their surroundings, express themselves, and find beauty in the absence of color. Think about how this lack of color might affect emotions and relationships.

Prompt #7: The New Kid

Imagine a story about a new student joining a class where everyone seems to be the same. Describe how the new student feels different at first but eventually finds friends who appreciate their unique qualities and talents.

Prompt #8 : Your Magical Escape

Imagine you're in a magical world where you can escape to anywhere you want. Describe this place in detail. What does it look like? What sounds do you hear? What kind of creatures live there? How do you feel when you're in this escape?

Prompt #9: Book Review

You've just finished reading The Giver. Now, it's time to share your thoughts about the book in a book review. Here are some things to include in your review:

  • Start by giving a brief summary of the book. Who are the main characters? What is the story about? What happens in the beginning, middle, and end?

  • Tell me about your favorite characters in the book. What makes them special? Did you have a favorite moment with them?

  • Share some of the most exciting or interesting parts of the book. Did you have any favorite scenes or moments that you really enjoyed reading?

  • Think about what you learned from reading the book. Did the book teach you anything new or make you think about things differently?

  • Finally, tell me what you thought of the book overall. Did you like it? Why or why not? Would you recommend it to your friends?

이어서 3월 16일부터 Fiction Reading & Writing 시간에는 Kate DiCamillo의 <The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane>을 진행합니다.
