토요일 주 1회 수업 입니다.
지난 몇 주에 걸쳐 읽은 <Charlotte’s Web>에 이어서 다양한 언어로 번역되어 전 세계적으로 여러 세대를 거치며 사랑받는 고전인 <The Little Prince (어린왕자)>를 영어 번역서(원어는 불어입니다)로 읽고 관련 주제에 대한 Writing을 연습할 수 있는 수업을 10월 28일 시작합니다.
우정, 사랑, 외로움, 그리고 인간적 커넥션의 가치에 대한 중요한 삶의 교훈을 전달하는가 하면 관계의 특징이나 인생의 의미와 같은 철학적 질문을 제기하여 주제에 대해 깊이 생각하게 할 수 있는 책으로 학생들의 상상력과 창의력, 공감 능력을 기르는데 도움을 줄 수 있습니다. 영어로의 번역서이기는 하지만 아름다운 텍스트가 그대로 녹아져 있어 영어 언어 능력을 발전시키고 언어 예술의 가치를 약간이나마 이해할 수 있게 하는 계기가 되었으면 합니다. 더불어 이 책은 저자가 직접 그린 매력적인 일러스트레이션을 포함하고 있어 시각적인 소양에도 도움이 될 수 있습니다. 이와 같이 여러 면에서 아이들의 지성과 감성을 풍부하게 해 줄 Reading & Writing 수업에 초대합니다. AR 4점대로 초등학교 3~6학년 학생들에게 권장합니다.
Reading comprehension questions 을 통한 대화식 수업이며 학생들의 수준과 수업의 흐름에 따라 다음 중 글쓰기 주제를 선별하여 진행합니다. 매주 토요일 4시 수업이며 숙제양이 비교적 적어 부담없이 참여하기에 좋은 수업입니다.
Describe the Little Prince and his personality. What are his main characteristics, and how does he change throughout the story?
If you were to visit one of the planets the Little Prince visited, which one would you choose, and why? Write a story about your adventures on that planet.
Write about the importance of friendship as illustrated in the book. Describe a time when you made a new friend and how it made you feel.
Discuss the Little Prince's relationship with the Rose. What does she symbolize, and how does the Little Prince's attitude toward her change?
Explore the lesson the Little Prince learns from the Fox about taming and relationships. Write about a time when you learned something valuable from a teacher or mentor.
Write about the significance of the Baobabs in the story and the lesson they teach. Explain how recognizing and addressing problems early can prevent bigger issues later.
Describe the Little Prince's encounter with the desert and the importance of finding water. Write about a time when you faced a challenging situation and had to find a solution.
Imagine you are a space explorer like the Little Prince. Write a journal entry about your travels to different planets and the interesting people or creatures you meet.
Write a letter from the Rose's perspective, explaining her feelings and thoughts about the Little Prince's departure.
How does the Little Prince use his imagination in the story? Write about a time when you used your imagination to solve a problem or have an adventure.
Write a short story or draw a picture of a new adventure for the Little Prince. Where does he go, and what interesting characters or challenges does he encounter?
