최근 해외에서 많은 주목을 받고 있는 크리스토퍼 놀란 감독의 영화 오펜하이머가 어제 한국에서도 개봉해, 늦은 밤 오랜만에 영화관을 찾았습니다. 3시간의 긴 러닝타임에도 불구하고, 영화 내내 흥미와 긴장감을 느끼게 하는 구성이기도 했지만 인류에게 큰 의미를 지니는 역사적 사건을 배경으로 한 만큼 현대 사회를 사는 우리에게 주는 무게 있는 시사점 역시 많았습니다.

영화의 오프닝 캡션입니다: "Prometheus stole fire from the gods and gave it to man. For this, he was chained to a rock and tortured for eternity" (프로메테우스는 신들로부터 불을 훔쳐 인간에게 주었다. 그 대가로 그는 바위에 묶여 영원히 고통을 받게 되었다.)
