We're reading Kazoo Ishiguro's <The Remains of the Day> for our September meeting.
Kazuo Ishiguro's The Remains of the Day is a masterfully written novel that gently unfolds the life of Stevens, an English butler whose story is steeped in themes of duty, dignity, and the passage of time. Set in post- World War II England, the novel takes us on a reflective journey through Stevens' memories as he embarks on a road trip across the English countryside. As he revisits the grand estate where he devoted his life to serving a great lord, Stevens begins to question the choices he made and the loyalty he gave to a man who may not have deserved it.
